What we do
ATBA-UK is the National Governing Body of mountain boarding in the UK. As well as running the UK National Mountain Boarding Championships, we also provide instructor training, and support for those who want to set up mountain board centres or provide mountain boarding as an option at their activity centre.
The ATBA-UK Instructor Training course is the only recognised mountainboard instructor course in the UK.
It trains confident and competent mountainboard instructors who deliver safe and fun mountainboard sessions. It is perfect for Activity Centres wishing to have mountainboarding as one of their activities, for Mountainboard Centres, and for clubs who want to help new members improve their riding.
How we help you get set up
If you are thinking about offering mountain boarding hire or tuition, either at a dedicated centre or as part of your activity centre, we can help you get set up.
We can put you in contact with industry professionals who will help guide you through the process of setting your centre up, provide instructor training that is recognised by insurance providers nationwide, help you find insurers to meet your needs, and offer advice on location requirements and what equipment to purchase.

What you need
In order to set up a mountain board centre or offer mountain board hire you will need several things specific to mountain boarding:
- One or more ATBA-UK trained instructors
- Mountain board specific insurance
- A fleet of mountain boards
- Protective equipment to rent alongside mountain boards (a minimum of helmets, knee and elbow pads and wrist guards)
- A short grass slope
