Discover Mountainboarding

You can mountainboard anywhere, from a gentle grass slope through to specifically designed boardercross tracks, slopestyle parks, woodlands, gravel tracks, streets, skateparks, ski resorts, BMX courses and mountain bike trails. It is this ability to ride such a variety of terrain that makes mountainboarding different from other board sports.

The best way way to learn to mountainboard is to get lessons from an ATBA-UK Instructor – here is a list of centres currently offering mountain boarding instruction: <NEED INFO HERE – could it be a link to the database?>. However if you don’t have a centre near you, there are plenty of other places you can ride.

As a beginner, obviously it’s best to start with a gentle grass slope. Your local park, common or fields can all provide great mountain boarding slopes. Make sure there’s somewhere to stop and you’re not going to run anyone over, and control your speed by travelling across the hill instead of straight down it if necessary. See our “How” section for more guidance on how to get started!
