Competing

Intro to comps

The ATBA-UK run a national competition every year which consists of three disciplines run across one summer weekend:

  • Boardercross Racing – 4 man racing down a specially constructed track with a qualifying section followed by a series of knockout races to crown the overall winner
  • Freestyle – Riders hit a variety of features, including jumps, rails and quarter pipes and are judged by a 3 man judging panel to decide the podium
  • Downhill – Riders undertake timed runs down a more rugged, natural track to see who can put down the fastest time.

You can enter for any event or enter all three to gain an overall national ranking.

In addition to the official UK championships, there are a number of smaller competitions hosted by groups of riders or mountain board centres throughout the season – keep your eyes peeled on social media or contact your local centre to see when these crop up!

How to enter

ATBA-UK competitions are open to anyone who can mountainboard. You can register on the day – generally registration closes at 11:00 am on the day of the event. Refer to the event page on social media for details of pricing and exact timings for this year’s competitions.
